Gurnard

The gurnard (Tub gurnard, Sea-robins) is caught in the Southern part of the North sea. He is also called grunt because he produces a grunt sound. He moves his muscles to close on his bladder. The big difference with his brother the black one (that also good be a red colour) is the line scheme. At the red ones the skin is smooth and the black ones are a little prickly.

 


To clean


  1. Make with the top of the knife on both sides of the back side a little incision.
  2. Take the fins of from the tail to the head.
  3. Make a little incision into the skin behind the both sides after the head.
  4. Put your knife straight on the big bone after the head and cut through the bone.
  5. Lay down the fish on the back, put your knife with the back side on the big bone and pull the head with skin of to the tail
  6. Cuts trough the tail and cleans the blood of the head side.
